In September we sold our 1950’s red brick home in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was such a bittersweet decision to let it go but we knew the timing was right. Scott and I had bought an empty lot a few months prior and are now in the beginning stages of the building process for our forever home.
When we moved our family from Alpharetta, Georgia four years ago, we moved into our tiny, red brick home. We put so much hard work into it that by the time we sold it, we had remodeled or updated every square inch of it! When we bought the home it was in rough shape and definitely needed some updating. It was so fun to take on each individual project over the last few years and make the home ours.
One of my favorite projects was putting together this playroom for our kids! I loved having a place to store all our toys and wanted to make it a fun space just for them. It turned out so adorable and they both loved it. It is one of the rooms we miss most from our house and I can’t wait to put everything back together again in our new home. The space really came together and I love the colors that I used. I’ve added lots of photos below and linked everything in case you are interested in creating your own play space. I’ve also included a list of our absolute FAVORITE TOYS in our house. I always love getting new ideas for toys so hopefully this helps you out if you are in need of some ideas for Christmas or Birthday toys!

JACKSON’S FAVORITE TOYS:
Jackson has always loved trains, cars and really anything that moves! You can see from his list of favorite toys that he has several larger train sets which is what he plays with a majority of the time. I often rotate these sets out so that he doesn’t get sick of anything. We got him the Classic Train Table and Train Set two years ago for Christmas and the Thomas Glow in the Dark Train Set last year. He loves both of them and still plays with both of them all the time. The Magic Tracks Set has also been a huge hit at our house! It is such a great price and I’m pretty sure any kid would like them. I had more people buy that toy off my recommended list last year than anything else. This year for Christmas we are giving Jackson his first Hot Wheels Track so I bought the Hot Wheels Go Kart to go along with it. He is going to be in heaven!

LONDON’S FAVORITE TOYS:
I’ve always joked that Jackson could make any toy in the world fun. London is a little more specific with what toys she likes to play with. We purchased this Toddler Play Kitchen for her first birthday and it was an awesome decision. She has played with it more than any other toy in our house. She just turned two and it is still her favorite thing. She loves to make a mess, dump the food out, bang on the pots, pretend to cook and then yells at us when the, “food ready!” She has also started to get more into babies and dolls in the last year. I’ve added our favorite Baby Doll and all her accessories below. This year for London’s birthday we bought her the Ice Cream Cart and she LOVES it! Jackson surprised me and has liked it just as much as London! I would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a fun and interactive toddler toy.

TOYS BOTH OF MY KIDS LOVE:
This list includes toys both of my kids love and play with all the time. A lot of these toys are gender neutral and can be enjoyed by a variety of ages. The Bounce House has been one of my best toy purchases ever. It entertains my kids for hours. I always blow it up when we have friends over for play dates. The kids always loves it! I bought the Mini Trampoline and Toddler Slide on a whim while walking through Walmart one day and they have also been a huge hit. I keep them out at all times and therefore they are constantly being used. I also recommend the Ball Pit. It can be messy and balls go everywhere but my kids ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I bought it for Jack’s first birthday and yet they both still play in it all the time.
Thanks so much for looking through our toy list! I wish everyone the best of luck this Holiday season. I hope you find fun toys that can be loved and enjoyed by your family. Now go find some good deals!
